| Session Date | 07/01/2024 |
| Session Number | 3 |
| Total Session Minutes | 120 |
| Homework assignment to client/group | Reading assignment (handout) on the 6 tastes (rasas) of Ayurveda and how they are used to balance dosha imbalances. |
| Activities | Lecture on the interaction between gunas and doshas in mental/physical health. The connection with anxiety and depression was especially interesting to the clients. |
| Client/Group progress summary | Clients enjoyed the lecture and the asana/pranayama practices. They are beginning to see how useful the practices are when applied to specific dosha imbalances. Today, we emphasized how Ayurveda addresses excesses rather than deficiencies in doshas since there were questions about that. |
| Reflection and self-evaluation | I especially love the teachings on using Ayurveda for mental health. The main source I used was David Frawley's book, Ayurveda and the Mind. |
| Final Client/Group Report | After seeing your client/group (for at least 4 sessions including interactive intake) Please remember practicum is a learning experience. You’ll learn more from sharing what’s accurate than from what might “look good”. Things you did well, not so well, problems and questions are all valid and useful tools to teach you. We can’t serve you to become the best clinician you can be if you don’t share your challenges and mistakes. Success is anything from which you learn. You can continue to add Session entries after submitting this Final Client/Group Report. |
| Plan for next session | Lecture on the 6 tastes; doshas as related to time of day, seasons, and stages of life. |
