Practice the DOSE meditation.
Practice the lion’s breath. What do you notice?
What would happen if you live in truth (satya) and non-violence (ahimsa), saying your truth without harming others (non-violent communication)?
|
|---|
| Activities | Check-in
Story of the lion who thought he was a sheep (Paramahansa Yogananda). Working fear of saying the truth (satya) and avidya (ignorance of your true nature). When we recognize we are lions of energy, we can be true to ourselves, with no lies and no fear. (https://www.ananda.org/blog/lion-sheep-yogananda-joy/)
Vishuddha chakra is blocked by LIES. Unblock it with introspection, non-violent and clear communication.
Warm-ups,
sun salutation,
tadasana,
camel,
child’s,
viparita,
Matsyasana with pillows.
supine twist,
Savasana.
Pranayama: Lion’s breath or simhasana pranayama (Inhale deeply and exhale fully with open mouth and tongue out)
“According to McKeown (Patrick McKeown, author of The Oxygen Advantage), lion's breath is said to clear the throat and engage the lungs. He's seen it be particularly popular for people with a speech impediment as "it also helps release emotions and work through self-consciousness." https://www.mindbodygreen.com/articles/lions-breath
“Lion’s breath may help you in other parts of life, like when you want to speak up in certain situations but find yourself shying away. You may also find that lion’s breath helps you release emotions, thoughts, or patterns.” https://www.healthline.com/health/practicing-lions-breath#research
Meditation: DOSE
Take the daily D.O.S.E. This meditation with affirmation helps to take the attention to the breath and away from the negative thoughts of fear or frustration. DOSE is an acronym where D is dopamine, O is oxytocin, S is serotonin and E is endorphin. They are called joy hormones. And how are they released? Yoga can help release these hormones because it has 3 important requirements for this to happen:
1. Focus, concentration
2. Control of vital energy through breathing
3. Pratipaksha Bhavana (replace negative thoughts with positive ones.
These 3 are DOSE ingredients, a recipe to activate the parasympathetic system, making them calmer and more balanced.

| Client/Group progress summary | B. is having some problems with her right knee. She said that today she sent a message to someone she didn’t talk for 10 years because of some issues in the past. And she felt good about that. They even scheduled to meet.
L. loved the deep relaxation based on the neutral imagery script - SMTT.
M. got emotional with the lion story.

| Reflection and self-evaluation | Many clients are not coming because they are watching the video with Asanas. I guess those are too busy for yoga therapy, they want more of a quick fix. I am almost making peace with that.
|

| Final Client/Group Report | After seeing your client/group (for at least 4 sessions including interactive intake)
Please remember practicum is a learning experience. You’ll learn more from sharing what’s accurate than from what might “look good”. Things you did well, not so well, problems and questions are all valid and useful tools to teach you. We can’t serve you to become the best clinician you can be if you don’t share your challenges and mistakes. Success is anything from which you learn. You can continue to add Session entries after submitting this Final Client/Group Report. |

Ajna chakra is blocked by ILLUSION. Unblock it with spiritual connection, wisdom, universal identity, meditation.
