| Scope - Key teaching and goal identified; appropriately applied to client/group throughout TCA |
| ||||||||||
| Feedback on Scope | Sensory withdrawal: He is already withdrawn. Kapalbhati was brilliant to include. | ||||||||||
| Comprehension of Core Concepts - Demonstrates a clear understanding of concepts from the training and IY with the integration of critical thinking skills in goal and implementation. |
| ||||||||||
| Feedback on Comprehension of Core Concepts | This client is suffering from loneliness, depression, and alcohol addiction/withdrawal. Alcohol is a depressant. When we look at depression, addiction, there is a lot of heaviness so more attention to the energizing practices-specifically pranamaya kosha as a key teaching focus may have been a more beneficial approach initially. It's like he is stuck in the mud. The place where a beautiful lotus flower emerges from! So long story short, I would have liked to seen your plan shift (especially after your client's feedback with kaphalbhati) from your initial thought of as the key teaching to the pranamaya kosha then manomaya. I am glad you added in joint freeing. | ||||||||||
| Analysis of Key Issues - Shows consideration of specific client/group, IY, core training, and Yoga Therapy. |
| ||||||||||
| Analysis of Key Issues Feedback | Key teaching and plan in mind was reasonable and there was a thoughtful approach as how to work with him initially. | ||||||||||
| Application Key teaching and goal are clearly and appropriately addressed in plan and follow up. |
| ||||||||||
| Application of Key Teaching Feedback | Continuing to practice kapalabhati would be good too in follow up. I still don't understand the importance of him being able to sit on the floor. How does that help him with his suffering? "Also, I would suggest practicing hatha yoga to make his body to be flexible a little more so that he can stay sitting on the floor." | ||||||||||
| Relevance and Accuracy - Justifies methods and application. |
| ||||||||||
| Relevance and Accuracy Feedback | I would like to see some supporting research (other than from the blurb about manomaya kosha) as to supporting those with depression and addiction. What do studies show? | ||||||||||
| Integration and Originality - Exhibits critical thinking and individualized approach to TCA. Shows a difference between Yoga Teacher and Yoga Therapist approach. |
| ||||||||||
| Integration and Originality Feedback | Individualized plan of care fully demonstrates the difference between yoga teacher and yoga therapist, but I feel you were very tied into your plan which may have limited adaptability and healing presence. | ||||||||||
| Observations, Recommendations, Alternative Solutions - Reveals significant reflection and understanding of population and key teaching. Displays ability to adapt, adjust, accommodate. |
| ||||||||||
| Observations, Recommendations, Alternative Solutions Feedback | I am not sure why, when I read your report, that you commented numerous times that he cannot sit on the floor. We have the tools to adapt to the client. "I asked my client to find if it's possible for him to sit on the floor comfortably by next session". In your reflection you say you would do the same thing with a similar client. When your client said “I feel my head is clear and more energy in my body”, if it were in the first session, (that is unclear), you could have ran with that in regard to the above comments. You intuitively knew that your client needed to "energize the body and mind". | ||||||||||
| Writing Skills and Professional Presentation - TCA is presented in professional manner. |
