| Scope - Key teaching and goal identified; appropriately applied to client/group throughout TCA | |
|---|
| Feedback on Scope | Can add in what are some of the key yoga postures you would like to include that are beneficial for a person with PD.
|
|---|
| Comprehension of Core Concepts - Demonstrates a clear understanding of concepts from the training and IY with the integration of critical thinking skills in goal and implementation. | |
|---|
| Feedback on Comprehension of Core Concepts | Anne, I marked this basic because I would like to see a more clearer picture of (SMART):
specific, measurable, attainable, relevant, time-bound.
You have some specifics: 60-minute / week for 3 weeks, and where it occurs,
Measurable: how are you tracking your client's progress?
Attainable: Depending on your and your client's schedule of course, do you think 60-minutes was the best choice given the nature of your client's condition?
Relevant: Using the pilot study to help guide the sessions, understanding the benefits of strengthening and self-confidence. . well done here.
Time-bound: This is tough. 3-weeks is very short, understandable this is just the assignment. Did you include the attendant to participate in the practices so she / he would have more confidence in helping with homework? And was the aid capable of the practice?

| Analysis of Key Issues - Shows consideration of specific client/group, IY, core training, and Yoga Therapy. | |
|---|
| Analysis of Key Issues Feedback | I love the breathing practice linked with arm movement and how your encouragement helped her to become more comfortable with the movement. Also you obviously were developing a good relationship with her in that she found confidence to try standing poses although I am unsure by "standing half lotus pose" ?? She sounds funny too. She felt accomplished by the standing postures but "not doing them again". 😀
This was definitely approached as a yoga therapy session.
|
|---|
| Application Key teaching and goal are clearly and appropriately addressed in plan and follow up. | |
|---|
| Application of Key Teaching Feedback | Basically complete. I am not sure what you suggested to the aid in order to continue a home practice. I would like to have heard more detail on that.
Or how about on those days where she feels fatigue, some very simple breathing attention, maybe like 5 breaths, acting as a meditation and stress reduction. Attainable. Relevant.
|
|---|
| Relevance and Accuracy - Justifies methods and application. | |
|---|
| Relevance and Accuracy Feedback | Where there any specific practices that the pilot study discussed and if so which were integrated into the sessions?
|
|---|
| Integration and Originality - Exhibits critical thinking and individualized approach to TCA. Shows a difference between Yoga Teacher and Yoga Therapist approach. | |
|---|
| Integration and Originality Feedback | Yoga therapy was definitely applied. By checking in and seeing how she was on that specific day cultivated an opportunity to meet her where she was. What would you do on those days where she was more agitated and/ or depressed. Did you ever look into what brings her joy, anandamaya kosha? That can be a great way to lift someone's spirit. As yoga therapist we want to tap into that deep well where awe, even if forgotten lies.Ob

| Observations, Recommendations, Alternative Solutions - Reveals significant reflection and understanding of population and key teaching. Displays ability to adapt, adjust, accommodate. | |
|---|
| Observations, Recommendations, Alternative Solutions Feedback | This section was repeated from the prior section and I am not sure if it intentional. Some of the reflection could be relevant to this section
|
|---|
| Writing Skills and Professional Presentation - TCA is presented in professional manner. | |

| Writing Skills and Professional Presentation Feedback | 1 run on sentence
My classes are based on results of a controlled pilot study of the effects of yoga in Parkinson’s disease, the program significantly reduced bradykinesia and rigidity, and increased muscle strength in older patients with PD.
