Report Information

How did you envision working with the client(s) to incorporate the selected teaching? (Define the plan)

- I envisioned first explaining and demonstrating to my client the 3 part breath with one hand on my belly and one on my chest so my client can see and feel the rise and fall of her breath under her hands when she practices it.
- Then asking her to demonstrate as I watched her.
- When she had finished demonstrating, I'd ask if she had any questions or concerns and if she felt it was attainable.

What branch(es) of IY did you use? How does each support your goal/relate to the key teaching?

- I used the pranamaya kosha - breathing practice under a IY Hatha class and also falls under the 8 Limbs of Yoga

- Slow deep steady breathing will activate the parasympathetic nervous system which will help reduce stress and decreases heart rate which will help reduce overall blood pressure.

Short notes on time with client:

My client was very receptive. She was able to demonstrate the 3 part breathing as I watched with no issue.

Follow up suggestions for your client (whether with you or on their own):

My client will practice on her own, 3 times a week in the mornings for 3 minutes for 1 week. After 1 week, we will have another zoom video call.

Reflection
Did you apply your intended plan once you met with the client(s)? Was the goal achieved? Explain.

Yes, goal was achieved, I was able to show and demonstrate to my client 3 part breath and she was able to show and demonstrate she was able to do it. She self reported practicing 3 times a week and expressed it was helpful. She said she even used it a few times through out the week when she felt really stressed.

Did you have to adapt anything in your plan? What lessons did you learn?

- No, I didn't have to adapt my plan.

- I learned that my client was very receptive to learn and even used it during times when she felt stressed.

If you are faced with the same situation again in the future, would you approach it in the same way? Why or why not? What went well? What you might change and why? Summarize.

I would approach it in the same way and wouldn't change anything in my approach. Everything went well and my client was able to incorporate it in her daily life.
