| Prior coursework/training | Successful completion of a 200-hour Yoga teacher training from a Yoga Alliance approved school plus a minimum of one year teaching Yoga is required for participation in the Integral Yoga Therapy Program track to become a Certified Yoga Therapist. If you are not a registered Yoga teacher, but are a licensed social worker or health care professional who would like to supplement your practice with Yoga therapy techniques, you are welcome to join the program, but will need to first complete a basic 200 hour teacher training to be eligible to receive certification from the International Association of Yoga Therapists (IAYT). |

| Please describe your past/current Yoga teaching experience including location, timeframe, population taught, etc. | My current teaching is 1 regular studio class/week (by choice), on Wednesday evenings 6:30-7:30. Since the studio recently opened again because of COVID, we’re capped at 8 people in studio. I usually have about 10-12 students, zoom and in studio. I have private yoga, reiki and meditation clients as well. |

| Please describe your studies and understanding of Ayurveda. | I’ve taken an Ayurvedic workshop however, I’m not extremely knowledgeable of Ayurveda. I understand the doshas and how food, oils, time of year can effect your doshas. How oiling and food can calm, cool or warm what our body needs. |
| Please describe your studies and understanding of yoga philosophy. | I’m forever a student in yoga philosophies and have a thirst for more. I’ve studied Patanjali and his yoga sutras. The Bhagavad Gita and have read many books on yoga and Buddhist philosophies. |
| What are your expectations as a student? What do you hope to gain, learn, or work on? | I’ve tried to let go of any expectations in my life but I am open to learn, absorb, come out with as much knowledge, hands on experience as I can. |
| Why do you want to enroll in Integral Yoga Therapy Certification (IYTh)? | Although I have never taken an in person class at IYTh. I have taken zoom classes at IYTh. I have heard many great things about IYTh from fellow yogis and I find myself drawn to the hatha style of yoga more and more as I dive deeper into my yoga practice. |
| How do you intend to use yoga therapy in your practice, both personally and professionally? | With an aging mom who has Parkinson’s, osteoporosis and onset dementia, my path has lead me to wanting to help the aging. As I round the corner in my own aging process, the more I know to stay healthy, flexible (mentally as well as physically), and really know the body will allow me to help others as well as myself. |

I fully understand the commitment, time and dedication it will need and look forward to the commitment and challenge. |
