Initially I practiced with Yogi Shalom in a Fresno community center, then with Katie Flinn at Coil Yoga where we practiced Hatha yoga. Later, I explored Ashtanga yoga, restorative, and yin yoga. My practice now is intuitive based on what I need physically and mentally. I would say that it encompasses all my practices. I like Sri Swami Satchidanada’s saying “peaceful, ease full , and useful” and practice with that in mind. | ||||||||||||

Recently I have retaken that training, the deepening into therapeutic yoga, Raja Yoga with Swami Karunananda and Swami Priyananda, Psychology and Mental Health with Mala Cunningham PH.D., and Stress Management with Swami Vidyananda. I’m taking the Bhagavad Gita with Rev Lakshmi as well. | ||||||||||||

| Please describe your past/current Yoga teaching experience including location, timeframe, population taught, etc. | I’ve taught since 2014 in a variety of locations to different populations. I started teaching ashtanga vinyasa and yin classes in yoga studios. I soon started doing private therapeutic yoga sessions to a variety of clients but overall people sought me out for stress and rehab (mental or physical). I’ve worked with paraplegic athletes, Parkinson’s patients, brain injuries, and with athletes for recovery. I was teaching full time by 2016 in yoga studios, home’s, corporate offices, private clubs, and condominiums. I have lead teacher trainings, corporate events, charitable events, workshops, and I even did a news segment on arthritis and yoga on WGNs Healthy Living. | ||||||||||||

| What are your expectations as a student? What do you hope to gain, learn, or work on? | I’m working on healing from 3 surgeries in 2019 so the studies so far have been essential in that. In order for me to pass these studies on, I need to practice them and see them work, this has been an excellent time for that.
