| Please describe your past/current Yoga teaching experience including location, timeframe, population taught, etc. | Honestly due to the pandemic I have not done a lot of teaching. I have done some, however. A few classes outdoors in a park where I live. I received donations only. A good turnout. 5 people, which is enough due to the fact that I am still a novice. I also have held classes in different places that I have visited during the beginning of the year. A hostel in Oregon, an Intentional Community in Oregon as well. I spent 2 weeks at an Ecovillage in Missouri where I held several classes varying in size and young and older folks. Learned a bit about adjusting my guests and putting the focus on them and not so much on whether I was doing a good job or not. All these were very positive experiences. I know that I need/want so much more training, in particular with adjusting postures and getting some good feedback on my technique. Again, my training was online so it was difficult to learn certain aspects of being a Yoga Instructor. | ||||||
| Have you taken any Yoga therapy training programs? | No | ||||||
| Do you have any special interests or capabilities that may be relevant? | Not sure if this is relevant, but I am also on a path to become an herbalist. I want to be able to help people move from traditional pharmaceutical medications to a holistic path. There are so many ways we can heal our mind, body and spirit, just outside our doors, in many cases. | ||||||
| Please list any other training or experience that you think is relevant. | I spent some time in physical therapy due to arthritis in my back and hips. This actually inspired me to further my yoga practice. | ||||||
| What are your expectations as a student? What do you hope to gain, learn, or work on? | I want to expand my yogic knowledge and experience. I also want to share in meditation practices so that I can help others in a variety of meditative practices. I also am looking forward to helping out in areas such as gardening and cooking. Other areas as needed. | ||||||
| Why do you want to enroll in Integral Yoga Therapy Certification (IYTh)? | My intention is to eventually share my Yoga and Meditation experience with those affected by mental illness, i.e. PTSD, Childhood Trauma, Addiction | ||||||
| How do you intend to use yoga therapy in your practice, both personally and professionally? | My intention is to eventually share my Yoga and Meditation experience with those affected by mental illness, i.e. PTSD, Childhood Trauma, Addiction. I'm also considering working with individuals who are elderly and maybe even children. Any area where Yoga Therapy applies at this point, but I am sure I will develop a "specialty" as I take the courses and learn more about my passions as well as a good fit for me. | ||||||
| Given your current or future commitments, how will you create the time and space to achieve your goals for the IYTh program and fulfill all of the training requirements? | At this point in my life, I am working on self. I've helped raise 3 grandchildren and now I have the luxury of time to dedicate to what is important to me. Learning more about myself through yogic practices is the best way, for me, to discover myself. | ||||||
| Are there any current scheduling conflicts or anticipated events that could affect your ability to attend any of the scheduled modules? | I don't have any conflicts. My lease expires where I'm at, the end of this month (September) so I am eager and ready to start soon. | ||||||
| How did you find out about the Integral Yoga Therapy Certification Program? | Friend or Teacher | ||||||
| Please provide specific website, studio, or individual names if you can, as well as any other specific information on how you heard about the program | I have been searching for sometime and spoke to a friend regarding your Ashram. Everything about your place resonates very deeply! | ||||||
| What print and/or online Yoga and wellness publications you read frequently and what social media you follow for Yoga information? | Yoga Journal is a subscription I have. I also subscribe to ic.org. This is a site for intentional communities where people share their places to visit and might offer work exchanges. This would be a good fit for advertising, I believe. I found Yogananda Villages through their site. | ||||||

In consideration of being accepted as a yoga therapy student, the undersigned releases and discharges Integral Yoga, its teachers, and students from any and all claims, demands, actions of any nature, whether present or future, anticipated or unanticipated, known or unknown, that result from the undersigned’s participation in yoga classes or practice of yoga outside of class. | ||||||
