Feedback on Scope

Kayko did an exceptional job at delivering a clear, complete, and purposeful case study. She introduced her client (KKO) & her client's primary objective for yoga therapy (improve respiratory health). She included health background information (ie. client developing mycrobacterium avium complex in 2015) and her client's motivation for healing (ie. joy in family, hobbies, friendships).

Next Kayko provided a thoughtful assessment across the 5 Kosha layers. For example, she assessed her client's physical ability to practice yoga postures, her ability to hold & retrain breath (baseline measurement), her energy level, her client's thoughts & emotions (stress, sadness), her inner beliefs & wisdom. Based on her client's short-term (promote efficient breathing) and long-term goals (improve sense of spaciousness to counter the stress & anxiety of living with long-term illness), Kayko developed a thoughtful care plan. She backed up her care plan with supporting research & resources, and adjusted it as needed based on feedback from her client.

Finally, Kayko provided thoughtful research & resources to support the care plan and her client's practice. Overall, the case study was very well done.

Kayko did an exceptional job in offering effective yoga techniques to address her client's short-term and long-term goals. She modified the care plan as needed. For example, she shortened the length of time in one posture sequence (bridge to supported shoulder stand) when her client expressed how difficult it was for her to remain the posture for a longer period of time. In the next session, Kayko introduced additional warm-up so that her client felt more able & easeful in the inversion.

In another example, Kayko revised breathing instruction to inhale through the nose (as if smelling a rose) and exhaling through pursed lips (as if blowing out a candle) to reduce her client's experience of dry mouth.

Kayko also established a baseline measurement (number of breaths/minute), and after her final session with her client, the measurement improved.
