Goal for implementation with client (Specific, measurable, attainable, relevant, time-bound relating to the client):

The goal is to help my client to learn how to reduce stress and anxiety level by practicing pranayama. In the session, Bhastrika and Nadi Suddhi will be used. This 25 minutes weekly session runs 4 weeks, stress/anxiety evaluation sheet is used to monitor the progress every week.

Report Information

How did you envision working with the client(s) to incorporate the selected teaching? (Define the plan)

I envisioned working with this client on a weekly basis for about 25 mins. Each session started with asking him any questions, concerns, and if he had any event that elevated his anxiety level. Then I lead the Guided Breath Awareness, followed by Bhastrika and Nadi Suddhi led to silent meditation. We began silent mediation for 3 mins and planned to increase the time up to 15 mins.

What branch(es) of IY did you use? How does each support your goal/relate to the key teaching?

The branch of Yoga I used is Hatha Yoga for the practice of pranayama and mediation.
The combination of Breath Awareness, Bhastrika, and Meditation helped to connect the mind and the body. Breath awareness enables us to be at a present moment, body awareness is activated when we pay attention to our breath. Bhastrika can boost energy level, increase endurance and concentration by oxygenates the blood. Nadi Suddhi helps to calm the mind and reduce stress and anxiety.

Short notes on time with client:

I've known this client for several years, he lives now in Honolulu and is a friend of my friend who used to live in New York.
He talked about his conditions and concerns when I visited Honolulu last time. Recently he said, "I really want to find a way to maintain a stable mind so that I will be able to spend my time happier and work harder".
I think he got a lot out of these sessions, and he mentioned that he would like to practice yoga asanas as well.

Follow up suggestions for your client (whether with you or on their own):

I would advise my client to continue a daily morning practice, also he can practice when he feels elevated stress and anxiety level. In addition, I would suggest a nature walk, bird watching, earthing/grounding. All those activities will help to generate greater well-being. Especially, earthing has many benefits include reduces pain, stress, improve blood flow, energy, and sleep.
And based on his comments, I suggested to him repeat silently "I am calm and I listen" 3 times before picking up the phone.

Reflection
Did you apply your intended plan once you met with the client(s)? Was the goal achieved? Explain.

My intended plan was applied, and the goals were met specifically to reduce stress and anxiety levels by practicing pranayama. I believe the client benefitted from the sessions. Now he knows how to breathe, how to calm the mind. He said recently he felt less anxiety when he was on the phone, he is benefitted from the affirmation.

Did you have to adapt anything in your plan? What lessons did you learn?

Originally, I planned silent meditation for 10 mins. But I learned that he had no experience of the mediation prior to our 1st session.
I added Nadi Suddhi before silent meditation, his slow/deep breathing helped him to naturally begin the meditation.

Lesson Learned: I learned that I need additional consideration for those who had no experience of meditation. It is not easy for the beginner to sit silently for even a minute.

If you are faced with the same situation again in the future, would you approach it in the same way? Why or why not? What went well? What you might change and why? Summarize.

I will approach in the same manner if I face the same situation. It is important that the client can practice easily to calm the mind, reduce stress. The program I offered was easy to start with, he can practice anytime anywhere.
I would like to add visualization to the program because visualization can replace a negative feeling with a positive one so that the client can practice visualization before
