Report Information

How did you envision working with the client(s) to incorporate the selected teaching? (Define the plan)

The client will practice Yoga Nidra after their work for 30 minutes. They will do this practice daily for one week, recording their effort in a calendar (Marking "Yes" if they practiced or "no" if they did not do it). We will meet after a week to address any issues or questions she had during that week. My client experience stress at their work. Yoga nidra gives them a chance to relax their body at all levels of their being.

What branch(es) of IY did you use? How does each support your goal/relate to the key teaching?

I used Raja Yoga's (Ashtanga Yoga) 3rd branch Asana. Yoga Nidra is a "progressive muscle relaxation" process. It enables the body and mind to rest, repair, and rejuvenate. This practice helps the client to reconnect to their peaceful center.

Short notes on time with client:

I had my client fill in the intake form ahead of time and send it to me via email. Then we met over the online platform. During our first session, we did centering, hatha yoga, and other practices including Yoga nidra. We then discussed the possibility of practicing this practice daily. The client agreed to my suggestion about to practice this right after their work and to record her effort.

Follow up suggestions for your client (whether with you or on their own):

My client fell asleep during her practice on her own. I suggested reducing her practice time to 15 minutes and doing this practice as a guided practice. She will try that and get back if she needs further assistance.

Reflection
Did you apply your intended plan once you met with the client(s)? Was the goal achieved? Explain.

Yes, I applied my plan. She loved practicing Yoga Nidra. She shared that she felt relaxed but not feeling lazy after this practice.

Did you have to adapt anything in your plan? What lessons did you learn?

Yes, I reduced the practice time to 15 minutes after a couple of days of her practice as she fell asleep during the practice. Falling asleep is what she needs but that defeats the purpose of this practice. I couldn't come up with any other suggestion than reducing the time to 15 minutes. I am waiting to hear back from her.

If you are faced with the same situation again in the future, would you approach it in the same way? Why or why not? What went well? What you might change and why? Summarize.

Yes, I will still offer this practice but may start with 15 minutes of practice time and gradually increase the length of the practice as the client progresses.
