Closing

What branch(es) of IY did you use? How does each support your goal/relate to the key teaching?

Hatha - asana using props to support the client to experience the benefits of the poses without effort along with pranayama to facilitate healing and reduce lower back pain.

Raja – guided meditation to relieve lower back pain.

Short notes on time with client:

The client discussed the acute back pain he experiences in relation to his career. He described the initial difficulty in relaxing, but noted that after the first pose, he was able to release tension and surrender to the support of the props. We explored various methods for integrating mindfulness into his work routine. The client agreed to keep a diary to document the pain scale for his lower back discomfort and to note the presumed causes of the pain.

Follow up suggestions for your client (whether with you or on their own):

The follow-up session is scheduled for two weeks from now. The client has agreed to seek medical attention if the pain continues beyond this period.

Reflection
Did you apply your intended plan once you met with the client(s)? Was the goal achieved? Explain.

Yes, the plan was carried out as intended, resulting in the client benefiting from the session. The client reported feeling very relaxed and free from back pain after the session.

Did you have to adapt anything in your plan? What lessons did you learn?

I did not need to adapt anything.

If you are faced with the same situation again in the future, would you approach it in the same way? Why or why not? What went well? What you might change and why? Summarize.

The suitability of this practice depends on the client and their comfort with remaining in a supported pose for an extended time. Apart from that, it is considered safe for everyone.
