Report Information | |||||
| How did you envision working with the client(s) to incorporate the selected teaching? (Define the plan) | -Meeting with the client in person. Using Japa joint freeing series for the hips. | ||||
| What branch(es) of IY did you use? How does each support your goal/relate to the key teaching? | Hatha Yoga Branch: Japa Joint Freeing Series | ||||
| Short notes on time with client: | My client said she really liked the visualization of the roots growing from her feet, would never would have thought of doing it. It'll remind her to be steady on her feet and balanced before she moves. She was able to come into the pose with no issue. I did ask her to slow down and ease back into exercise because her body is changing and try not compare herself to what she was able to do in the past and focus on the action in the present moment. Something she struggles with. We will meet again in a week. | ||||
| Follow up suggestions for your client (whether with you or on their own): | I suggested to my client, daily visualization of roots growing from her feet as she sat, so she can feel grounded. After she completed her daily visualization, she should practice the seated tree pose. If any pain, to stop and wait a day to see if she is able to start again with the seated tree pose. | ||||
| Reflection | |||||
| Did you apply your intended plan once you met with the client(s)? Was the goal achieved? Explain. | My goal and intended plan was achieved but what really surprised me, was the visualization. I didn't expect the visualization of the roots growing from her feet to be that much on an impact. My client was really amazed how she really felt steady in her feet. | ||||
| Did you have to adapt anything in your plan? What lessons did you learn? | I didn't have to adapt anything, my client was in good shape before the fall. I learned the importance of visualization. I alway knew it worked for me but it really hit home when the client kept expressing how it helped her especially with her recent diagnosis of Parkinson's illness. | ||||
| If you are faced with the same situation again in the future, would you approach it in the same way? Why or why not? What went well? What you might change and why? Summarize. | I would generally approach the same way but more emphasis on visualization. I am going to incorporate more visualization for my clients. It was really an eye opener for me and made me so happy when I see the "ah ha" moment of Raja Yoga or IY in general. I so enjoy when a client has those "ah ha" moments.. It's so special, that I actually might have made a difference. | ||||
