Report Information

How did you envision working with the client(s) to incorporate the selected teaching? (Define the plan)

Lead client through a pranic healing guided imagery session with breath work and discussing adapting her practices.

What branch(es) of IY did you use? How does each support your goal/relate to the key teaching?

There are components of multiple branches including the physical modifications/postures and breathwork from hatha, principles from raja philosophy, and becoming more aware and using self analysis from jnana.

Short notes on time with client:

Client was very open to make changes to prevent lower back pain, sciatica flare-ups, and future health conditions. Client was very engaging with the session.

Follow up suggestions for your client (whether with you or on their own):

Continue practicing adaptation as needed to allow practice to continue instead of resting, resulting in more immobility. Client will also explore some additional guided imagery practices.

Reflection
Did you apply your intended plan once you met with the client(s)? Was the goal achieved? Explain.

Yes, the plan was carried out as intended. The goal achieved evidenced by client's RR reducing from 20 to 12 during the pranic healing and her application to practices following discussion. She also expressed a reduction in the stiffness she had upon arrival.

Did you have to adapt anything in your plan? What lessons did you learn?

No adaptations from the plan. I'm sometimes a little apprehensive with pranic healing as some clients are quick to judge some techniques as "woo woo," but this was reassuring that a client who desires relief was open to anything that might help heal.

If you are faced with the same situation again in the future, would you approach it in the same way? Why or why not? What went well? What you might change and why? Summarize.

It was a great approach having a discussion and experiencing what was discussed, so I would definitely try the same approach. It may need to be modified based on the client's learning style or condition, as some clients are more visual learners or some clients may not be comfortable with guided imagery.
