Plan Information | |||||
| Selected key teaching (specific core concept): | Shaking body parts to relieve stress | ||||
| Goal for implementation with client (Specific, measurable, attainable, relevant, time-bound relating to the client): | My client will shake their body parts as practiced in the session with them. They will do this practice once daily for at least a minute or 5 minutes or more depending on the available time for that day. They will do this for a week measuring how they felt after each practice. We will meet after a week to discuss the progress and go from there. | ||||
| Relevant Client(s) Details | My client is 50 years of age, female, and in good health condition. | ||||

Report Information | |||||
| How did you envision working with the client(s) to incorporate the selected teaching? (Define the plan) | The client will shake their hands, feet, and torso at an intensity appropriate for them when they are practicing. The client experiences a lot of stress from their work and relationships. Shaking their body will reduce their stress by bringing awareness to their body parts thus disengaging from the stressful thoughts or situations. Shaking the body parts calms the nervous system and induces relaxation response. They will do this practice once daily for at least a minute or 5 minutes or more depending on the available time for that day. Having regular practice in place will help them when they encounter a stressful situation to relieve the stress immediately and long-term practice of this will develop their stress hardiness. | ||||
| What branch(es) of IY did you use? How does each support your goal/relate to the key teaching? | I have used Hatha yoga as shaking the body relates to Annamaya kosha. Stress is a perceived experience by the individual in the Manomaya kosha that can be harnessed by having practices to calm the body which in turn calms the mind. Stress begins with a thought in the Manomaya Kosha level and ends up in the Annamaya Kosha. But the practices to relieve stress start from the Annamaya kosha. Also, shaking the body is the body's natural defense mechanism against stress. | ||||
| Short notes on time with client: | I had my client fill in the intake form ahead of time and send it to me via email. Then we met over the online platform. During our first session, we did centering, hatha yoga, and other practices including shaking the body parts. We then discussed the possibility of practicing "shaking the body parts" practice daily. The client agreed to my suggestion about when to practice and to record her practice. | ||||
| Follow up suggestions for your client (whether with you or on their own): | The client liked this practice and would like to continue practicing this. She will contact me if she has any questions or concerns over the phone in the future. | ||||
| Reflection | |||||
| Did you apply your intended plan once you met with the client(s)? Was the goal achieved? Explain. | Yes, I did apply my plan. My client loved this practice and she liked the simplicity of the practice. She was able to do this without anyone noticing (under the table) during her work time. | ||||
| Did you have to adapt anything in your plan? What lessons did you learn? | I had no need to adopt anything in particular for this practice. | ||||
| If you are faced with the same situation again in the future, would you approach it in the same way? Why or why not? What went well? What you might change and why? Summarize. | Yes, I will start with the same suggestion in the future as this is a simple practice and a quick way to connect the body, breath, and mind and to relieve stress. It requires as minimum as 30 seconds to relieve stress and shaking the body parts will just do the trick. I will choose a different practice if the client is not comfortable doing this for any other reason. | ||||
| Will you be uploading suplimental images or documents? | Yes | ||||
